On-Grid Solar System

On-Grid Solar System

An on-grid solar power plant is a solar energy system connected directly to the public electricity grid. It generates electricity using solar panels and supplies power to homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities, helping reduce dependence on conventional electricity.
The system typically includes high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) panels, a grid-tied inverter, and essential protection equipment. The electricity generated by the solar panels is used to meet the property's energy requirements, while excess power may be exported to the grid, depending on the applicable net metering regulations. When solar generation is insufficient, electricity can be drawn from the grid to meet demand.
On-grid solar plants are ideal for locations with reliable grid connectivity, offering lower electricity bills, reduced carbon emissions, and an efficient way to utilise renewable energy. Since they generally do not require battery storage, they can be more cost-effective than off-grid systems, although standard grid-tied systems typically shut down during a grid outage for safety reasons.
